"Plante Rant 5-4-12: Chinese Censorship"

Watching the Manderson Pooper show last night, they put a little box in the corner of the screen showing a TV in China with CNN on it and every time Anderson Cooper started talking about the Chen story, the Chinese government blacked it out.

The screen went black, and you could see it!  So here he is, he’s talking about something else and he’s on the screen – CNN International – and then every time they start talking about Chen in China, the stream just goes to black.

They change the subject – start talking about something else – and you can see in the corner of the screen that it comes back up!

Now that’s crazy, right?

That’s what liberals want to do with The Fairness Doctrine.

That’s what the left in this country wants to do with people with whom they disagree. That’s what lefties in this country want to do with talk show hosts on the radio.  Some of whom, are on this station.  Some of them are on right after me!

But that’s it. You know, Anderson Cooper’s looking at this and I’m thinking, “Well, that’s Chinese thugs, lefties, anti-free speech!”

And there’s another story, top of The Daily Caller today, that these leftie groups are creating coalitions to try to do away, to try to silence, to try to fade to black voices that they disagree with.

They are more alike than they would like to admit.

I got an e-mail here from Steve – “The Strategy for College-Aged Men.”

“This strategy will work for men, not women,” writes Steve. “But ask them if they think it’s cool to be unemployed, living in your mom’s basement and women won’t touch you with a stick for those very reasons. If you think that’s cool, vote for Obama.”

And that’s exactly right! You know, again, you need a car and a place to live if you’re going to become an actual human being. Alright? Instead of returning to the cocoon.

Obama’s bringing families together – I was talking about this with someone last night.

We had a caller, a lovely woman a few weeks ago – we were talking about the economy and asking what Barack Obama has done for you. 

She said, sort of tongue-and-cheeky, “Barack Obama has brought my family back together because my parents could no longer afford to live on their own, so they’ve moved in with us, in what we thought was going to be our retirement home, a 3-bedroom house.”

And I think she said, “And now we’ve got a kid leaving college with no place to go and no prospects for a job, moving back home.”

So Barack Obama’s bringing families together… much like the Chinese brought families together.

But it’s true! I mean, you graduate college and there’s no economy for you: sorry suckers, did you vote for this? Because if you did, you have no one to blame but yourself.

It’s like great pick-up lines in Barack Obama’s America: “Hey good lookin’, your place or my mom’s?”

Or “Hey, well you could drive or I could call my mom and she could pick us up. Really – she never even looks in the rear-view mirror! She’s really cool. No really, I think you’ll like her! She’s my mom.”

That’s it.  You know, what’s cool about Barack Obama’s America.

"Plante Rant 4-20-12: Barack Obama, the Left, and It's A Wonderful Life"

See here’s the reality of this.  This is a perfect representation of what the world looks like without the United States.  And I talked about this once before: the movie, It’s A Wonderful Life, which looks at the town of Bedford Halls, or Pottersville, depending on which way things go.

If you look at the history of the last 100 years on the planet Earth, without the United States – if the United States is George Bailey, you know Jimmy Stewart, and you remove George Bailey – the United States – from the history of the last 100 years on Earth, what does the world look like?

And the obvious reality is that it would be a patchwork of death regime, totalitarian regimes; it would be a giant slave ship of a planet, where misery would be the norm and prosperity would not even be in the lexicon.

Now Barack Obama, because he doesn’t believe that’s true, because he was educated at Columbia and Harvard Law School and then taught at the University of Chicago, where as one of the brilliant callers said in the last hour, “he didn’t actually teach constitutional law, he taught Saul Alinksy and Rules for Radicals.”

The Alinskyite president, as The Nation magazine wrote about him when he was a senator – he’s the Alinskyite president! The article tells you all about Barack Obama and Saul Alinksy and what a radical he is – and they’re saying it praisingly, not critically.

Barack Obama thinks that the United States is the problem.  That George Bailey, is the bad guy.  So George Bailey is dead.  He was never born, under Barack Obama.

And the people of Syria will die.

And the people of Sudan will die.

And the people of Latin America will fall under the sway of China and Iran.

And the President will wake up every morning feeling like he has done something good, because he has been indoctrinated to a way of thinking that is, to be generous, utterly wrong-headed.

And what we’re talking about here is the leadership style (I’m making quotation marks with my fingers) of Barack Obama.

There are legitimate questions here.  Is the President doing this deliberately?  Is the President of the United States carrying out the plan of the Left – to kick the pins out from beneath the United States, because they’ve always hated the United States and the role that the United States plays?

"Plante Rant 4-9-12: Stop Blaming Bush!"

The little Obama Administration Las Vegas junket from the General Services administration where they spent more than $800,000, you know havin’ a little party weekend (woo-hoo) and they made videos and they had raps, they had songs, you know all about it, it’s pretty wacky.

You know all about it if you don’t depend on NBC for your news, but if you depend on NBC or the Washington post or a lot of other organizations, a little something in passing, no big deal.  This is not a scandal, this has been certified as a scandal-free administration by members of the news media.  But this shameless, disgraceful embarrassment of an administration is actually now blaming someone else for their 820,000 las vegas vacation.  Guess who?

Bush!  They’re blaming Bush!  The Obama administration sent several hundred people to Las Vegas Nevada in 2010 for a conference that’s lead to the resignation of the head of the GSA and some other senior people kicked to the curb, gosh it’s a little bit embarrassing but the news media will just leave it alone from this point on because it’s a little embarrassing.  Could be a LOT embarrassing.

So here’s the Obama administration’s take on this, they came out and an official said, after they got caught (this was a year and a half ago, there was no culpability at the time when it was discovered, the news media didn’t report on it, it took Daryl Issa and a republican committee in the house of representatives finding the videotape before it made any news, we live in a visual world I guess) and an Obama hypocrite came out and said

"At least we’ve taken Bold, Swift and Forceful action!"

I know that probably sent a thrill up the leg of Chris Matthews, the idea of Bold Swift and Forceful Action.

 "At least we’ve taken Bold, Swift and Forceful Action to hold those responsible accountable, and put in place protections to make sure this never happens again.  If the Bush Administration folks had acted under THEIR watch, the 2010 debacle could have been avoided!"

Really, they should have saved you from yourselves years in advance?  This is pathetic!

I’ve been spending the weekend, I have relatives in town – a couple of my brothers and their wives and their kids, 5 nieces and nephews, all 6 years and below.  I’ve been having a riot with them down on the mall, absolute riot.
